Peugeot Partner

Peugeot Partner Standard

Value a hard-working van, high payload and impressive gadgetry? Take a look at the Peugeot Partner.

The standard L1 body length can carry just under a tonne, while the load volume is up to 3.3m3. There’s lots of storage too, with a shelf above the seats, door bins and various cubbies dotted around the cabin.

It’s equipped with a range of safety features to give you peace of mind and the technology has been designed to keep you entertained. You can mirror your smartphone onto the 8-inch touchscreen and make use of your own apps and music.

Offering all the essentials needed for an easy working day, consider the Peugeot Partner for your next van lease.

Citroen Berlingo

Citroen Berlingo

Popular and with good reason, the third generation Citroen Berlingo has a lot to offer.

The Citroen Berlingo provides the design inspiration and engine range behind many of its close competitors including the Peugeot Partner, Fiat Doblo, Vauxhall Combo and Toyota Proace City. High praise indeed for this little powerhouse.

Comfort is pedalled by Citroen as a unique selling point for this van. Its advanced comfort programme includes specially designed cushioned seats, cabin acoustic treatment and suspension set on softening a journey full of lumps and bumps.

There is no doubt that the Citroen Berlingo is compact van. But it offers class-competitive capacity with a load length that is just over 1.8 metres, and load height at 1.2 metres.

Balancing the need for small but spacious? This Citroen Berlingo should be on your consideration list.

Peugeot Expert

Peugeot Expert

Sitting firmly in the middle of Peugeot’s coveted LCV line-up, the Peugeot Expert is the perfect middle ground as far as space and agility are concerned.

So much so, it achieved Best for Practicality Medium Van in the What car? Van and Commercial Vehicle Awards 2022.

Perhaps no surprise when it offers a payload of 1244 kg and 5.3 m3 loading space volume in what is a surprisingly unencumbered package.

Thanks to their BlueHDi engines, Peugeot boast the lowest fuel consumption and emissions in the medium segment – but do offer fully electric alternatives in the form of the e-Expert for those that way inclined.

Long maintenance intervals of 25,000 miles or two years are also an attractive proposition for their line-up.

Nissan Townstar

Nissan Townstar

If we were to describe the Nissan Townstar in three words we’d choose: compact electric van. Ok, four words: brilliant compact electric van.

Continuing Nissan’s reign in the switch to EV for LCV customers (the Nissan e-NV200 secured 63% of UK van sales in 2019-2020), the Townstar is popular for its style, its size and its abundance of tech.

The model we’re looking at has a WLTP combined range of 177 miles, a payload of 403kg and a braked towing weight of 1500kg. And while this won’t suit everyone, it’s undoubtedly the perfect urban runaround.

To add to its novelty, the Nissan Townstar is also only available in petrol or electric variants. There’s not a diesel in sight!

All Townstar models come with a full-width bulkhead, 60:40 split rear doors and a nearside sliding door.

Plus, a lot of great tech comes as standard. This includes remote central locking with deadlock, air-conditioning, electric heated mirrors and automatic headlights and wipers.

However, this Acenta trim also brings an 8-inch colour touchscreen display to the mix. Along with cruise control, climate control and rear parking sensors.

If you’re looking for a nifty little van that will keep you moving while keeping you comfortable, you might just have found your match!

Ford Ranger Tremor

Ford Ranger

The curveball in this month’s roundup, introducing our current favourite powerful, plucky and unpretentious pick-up: the Ford Ranger.

It’s Europe’s best-selling pick-up for a reason and any model that returns in multiple iterations is a sure-fire for success. Currently in its fourth generation, this model is better than ever (and we think it was a winner to start with!).

According to Ford themselves, this lower range Tremor trim has been designed to be the ‘optimal balance’ between hard work, understated looks and off-road capabilities. It comes with unique 17-inch black allow wheels, Bilstein dampers, twin front tow hooks, an easy lift tailgate and many of the exterior design accents you’ll expect from this line-up.

But there are a total of 7 specifications to choose from in the range, so you really are spoilt for choice.

For those needing a vehicle that’s the heady mix of strength, size and a touch of passenger car mass appeal, there really is no alternative.

The Ford Ranger is a double cap pick-up with a difference, and we’re SO on board for the ride.

Suzuki Jimny

Suzuki Jimny

Maybe not the first thing that comes to mind when considering a light commercial vehicle, but it’s deserving of its place in this ranking all the same.

If off-roading is your game, the Jimny is designed to handle even the most troublesome of terrain. With ALLGRIP 4WD and low-range gear transfer, traction and torque are adaptable and optimised to suit the route ahead.

The Suzuki Jimny’s exterior is shaped for great ground clearance and to give the driver visibility of all extremities, protecting what is precious. It’s smaller size and weight creates a USP over other 4x4s, making no adventure too taxing.

You can get a 5-speed manual petrol that's ideal for a work vehicle that can get the job done with a bit of flair. It doesn’t compete with the storage space of a panel van, but there is ample room in the boot to suit a wide range of business needs.

And it’s our choice if you want to stand out and be smiling on your way to your next job.

What is van leasing?

Van leasing – otherwise known as Business or Personal Contract Hire – is a hassle-free and affordable way to get your hands on a brand-new van for you or your business.

And it couldn’t be easier.

All you have to do is pick your van and the terms (how long the contract will last, your annual mileage limit and your initial deposit), and then simply pay the fixed monthly fee for the duration of the van lease deal.

When the contract comes to an end, you simply hand the van back to your funder and you’re free to take out a new deal.

Why should I lease a van?

Van leasing is a fantastic way to benefit from the latest technology, including advanced safety features, infotainment screens and nifty additions like mobile offices.

But it also allows you to spread the cost of a brand-new van without having to spends thousands upfront, worry about depreciation or stress about needing to sell the van on at a loss.

It’s hassle-free and spreads the cost of a new van across a set period for a fixed monthly fee.

You can also add a maintenance package to your van lease. It makes budgeting your vehicle costs much easier, with your servicing, perishable items, MOT tests and more included in your monthly payment.

And, if you opt for a business van lease, you can offset 100% of the cost against your tax bill, as well as reclaim up to 100% of the VAT on both your lease and your (optional) maintenance package.

The best bit about van leasing?

You’ll always be driving the latest vans with the latest technologies, allowing you to stay ahead of the curve and keep your business moving.
