Should you charge an electric van to 100%?

Like a smartphone, it’s considered best practice to avoid always charging your electric van to 100%.

Day to day you probably won’t need the van to be at 100%, so you should try only charging it to full if you need it for a long journey. 80% is considered the sweet spot, and you’ll be able to adjust charging limits to reflect this.

Most electric batteries have buffers built-in to help mitigate the chances of the battery degrading over time. You should not only avoid charging it to full, but also prevent it from going completely flat, to maintain the battery.
