Can I afford to lease a van?

Your finance application is a way of proving to the funder that you can afford the initial payment and the ongoing monthly fees. If you’re unable to provide proof of affordability, like an income that’ll cover the ongoing costs, your finance application will be denied.

You cannot pay for the initial deposit via credit card, so you need to have this capital available in your chosen bank account.

The affordability decision is not made on income alone. It’ll also consider monthly expenditure, which means if you have a high income and high monthly outgoings, you could be denied if you don’t have enough left to cover the lease payment.

If you can prove that you have both the disposable income to cover the lease van and the funds for the initial payment, your application will probably be accepted.
