Please refer to this documentation if you wish to reject your vehicle on delivery day or afterward.
When this policy applies: This policy applies from the day of your vehicle's delivery. For orders not yet delivered, please refer to our cancellation policy.
Cooling-off period
The cooling-off period applicable to your order depends on the terms of your finance agreement, so please review this carefully.
These terms will affect the time you have to notify us of your intent to reject your vehicle, and the permissible reason for doing so.
Some funders offer an extended cooling-off period related to mechanical faults alone.
If you wish to reject your vehicle outside of the applicable cooling-off period, this will be at the discretion of your funder and you must follow their early termination policy.
Please note: You're advised to seek verification of the latest vehicle features from manufacturer websites and brochures before placing your order to ensure it meets your exact requirements. Carparison won't be liable for anything that has not been confirmed to you in writing that subsequently leads you to be dissatisfied with your vehicle of choice.
Rejection Process
Step 1: Initial notification
Contact your dedicated agent within your cooling-off period, confirming your intention to reject the vehicle.
You must stop driving the vehicle immediately, but it must remain fully insured until confirmed otherwise.
Step 2: Documentation
You’ll be required to provide:
- Written confirmation of rejection reasons
- Photographic evidence where applicable
Step 3: Collection
If rejection is accepted, we’ll arrange vehicle collection.
Step 4: Vehicle assessment
The supplying dealer will assess the vehicle and confirm charges for excess mileage and damage beyond fair wear and tear.
Rejection Fees
If rejection occurs for any reason after you have accepted delivery of your vehicle, you may be charged:
- Vehicle collection costs, as billed by the supplying dealer
- Mileage travelled between delivery and collection, charged at the excess mileage rate listed in your finance agreement
- Any damage identified on return to the dealership, different from that noted on your handover documentation and outside of fair wear and tear
- All fees paid to us in the course of facilitating your vehicle order and delivery
Finance implications
Rejecting the vehicle within your cooling-off period will not incur early termination charges.
Timeline
Timelines for arranging the collection of a rejected vehicle depend on the availability of the supplying dealer.
Alternative Resolution
Before proceeding with rejection, we may offer:
- Repair or rectification of identified issues
- Replacement vehicle of equivalent specification
- Financial compensation
If accepted, this may result in an order form addendum being issued.
How do I reject my vehicle?
If you wish to reject your vehicle, you must contact your dedicated agent within your cooling-off period.
You'll need to provide detailed reasons for rejection and may be asked to complete a vehicle rejection form.
We’ll arrange collection with the dealership and they’ll complete an assessment when it is back in their care.
Formal rejection paperwork, including any fees owed, retained or returned, will be issued once the process is complete.
Incorrect orders
You are entitled to thoroughly check over the vehicle upon delivery in the presence of the delivery driver.
In the event that the vehicle does not match the specification confirmed on your order form, please contact your dedicated agent immediately. Do not accept delivery or sign any paperwork.
If you subsequently choose to reject the vehicle, we'll instruct the delivery driver to return to the dealership with the vehicle at no cost to you.
We'll return all funds paid by you in the course of processing your order within 30 days.
